UNDERSTANDING BUYER AGENCY

In August of 2024, the subject of buyer agency in real estate became a popular topic both locally and nationally. In real estate, a buyer agency relationship means that a real estate agent represents the buyer’s interests exclusively throughout the home-buying process. The agent’s primary responsibility is to advocate for the buyer, helping them find the right property, negotiate the best price, and navigate contracts and inspections. With a buyer agency agreement, the agent is legally obligated to prioritize the buyer’s needs, maintain confidentiality, and provide honest, accurate information. This relationship ensures that the buyer has a dedicated professional looking out for their best interests at every step. At your initial consultation, and before you have scheduled any showings, we are legally bound to discuss buyer agency with you and answer any questions that you may have.
